Celebrated Estonian-born jazz musician Maria Faust pays tribute to her fellow Saaremaa Islander Louis Kahn, designer of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park. Part of the series of events celebrating the 120th birthday of the Estonian-born architect, the event presents a world premiere of Faust’s new piece MO(NU)MENT, dedicated to Kahn, with New York-based guest artists Peter Evans on trumpet, Sam Kulik on trombone, and Dan Peck on tuba. The concert is acoustic and site-specific, created specifically for this architectural site.
The event is co-presented by Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Sate Park and Estonian Ministry of Culture
Archtober is New York City’s Architecture and Design Month, an annual festival of architecture activities, programs, and exhibitions taking place during the month of October.
