Flushing Town Hall (FTH) was built in Germany’s Rundbogenstil ("round arch style")in 1862, during the Civil War Era. In 1938 a block of jail cells was added. The front facade features a triple arched portico topped by a classic entablature with low balustrade. As a New York City Landmark (1968) and a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places (1972), FTH is a member of NYC’s Cultural Institutions Group, is a Smithsonian Affiliate, and hosts year-round global arts and cultural programs with global arts and cultural programs.
