MASterworks Explorations: Northeast Bronx YMCA

This fall, MAS is celebrating design excellence in New York City with our 2022 MASterworks Awards! We have curated a selection of in person explorations and online in-conversations with this year’s honored projects.

On Saturday, October 29 from 12:00-1:00 PM, join MAS for a visit to the Northeast Bronx YMCA, 2022 MASterwork winner for Best New Building. Led by team members from the YMCA and MARVEL, the design team behind the project, attendees will explore this incredible new YMCA campus.

Located on E. 229th street, the Northeast Bronx YMCA addresses the critical need for recreational space, fulfilling a 30-year dream of the community for a multigenerational community center and hub. Developed in partnership with a broad coalition of community leaders and elected officials, it is a powerful reminder of the good that can come when our leaders, institutions, and community work together.

During this in-person exploration, explore the beautiful grounds and wonderful facilities, getting an insider-view into the design behind the new building and how the space is best-serving the Northeast Bronx community.
