Our October Drop-in Drawing program, facilitated by museum staff and guest artist Jordin Alanis, will be held in Gallery 413: Touching the Void. In addition to self-guided drawing prompts, this session will feature short artist-led demos throughout the evening. Drop-In Drawing takes place in conjunction with MoMA’s UNIQLO NYC Nights, when the Museum is open late on the first Friday of every month and admission is free for New Yorkers.

Explore artworks through drawing in this relaxed drop-in session for all ages. Materials and seating are provided. Participation is open to all, with no experience, ability, or reservations required. Drawing prompts will be available in English and Spanish.

Jordin Alanis is a painter born in Acambaro, Mexico. She received her BFA at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2019. She is currently working and painting in Brooklyn, NY. Alanis creates paintings that are inspired by dreamlike parallel worlds. She depicts compositions with sister species, rendering a reality where this world and the other meet and coexist. Creating themes of metamorphosis and the dreamlike, she fabricates otherworldly representations with the use of vivid color and personal symbolism.
