Urban Archive is a platform for Cities, Museums, Libraries, and Urban Explorers. We create technology that enhances collection engagement and digital storytelling. In her spare time, Ember Beeler, founder of The Newburgh Project, virtually rebuilds the city of Newburgh, NY, as it stood before Urban Renewal tore down over 1,300 buildings and displaced over 800 families in the 1960s and 1970s. Both entities are using technology to either allow users from all over the world to help build or gain easy access to history. Panel will discuss how each respective technology has broadened public access and enabled community engagement.
