For three days, the CCA Bookstore is setting up camp on the construction site of SO–IL’s future office and social space in Brooklyn for a somewhat unscripted, hardhat pop-up. The event takes place during the last weekend of Archtober, New York City’s Architecture and Design Festival, and is an occasion to discuss how books shape our understanding of architecture.
On Friday, 25 October at 6pm, join us for conversations around CCA’s The Lives of Documents—Photography as Project with Victoria Addona, Giovanna Borasi, Albert Ferré, and Amanda Gluibizzi of The Brooklyn Rail, and Columbia Books on Architecture and the City’s Into the Quiet and the Light, with Isabelle Kirkham-Lewitt, Joanna Joseph, and the author Virginia Hanusik.
And on Saturday, 26 October at 3pm, join us for the book launch of SO – IL’s In Depth, published by Lars Müller Publishers, with Florian Idenburg and Jing Liu in conversation with Alexandra Lange, Alexandra Cunningham Cameron, and Jimenez Lai. The conversation will end with a Guess-The-Home game and prizes.
New York architects Casey Mack, MOS, Dundungetahome, Pietro Pagliaro, Atelier Fomenta, Phil Panza, and Play Farm are generously lending stools.
Sound is provided by Waves and Frequencies and AV engineering by Daniel Neumann.
This pop-up bookstore is organized in collaboration with HEAD Hi.
Friday, 25 October: 3pm to 8pm
