For three days, the CCA Bookstore is setting up camp on the construction site of SO–IL’s future office and social space in Brooklyn for a somewhat unscripted, hardhat pop-up. The event takes place during the last weekend of Archtober, New York City’s Architecture and Design Festival, and is an occasion to discuss how books shape our understanding of architecture.

On Friday 25 October at 6pm, join us for conversations around CCA’s The Lives of Documents—Photography as Project with Victoria Addona, Albert Ferré, and Amanda Gluibizzi of The Brooklyn Rail, and Columbia Books on Architecture and the City’s Into the Quiet and the Light, with Isabelle Kirkham-Lewitt, Joanna Joseph, and the author Virginia Hanusik.

And on Saturday 26 October at 3pm, join us for the book launch of SO – IL’s In Depth, published by Lars Müller Publishers, with Florian Idenburg and Jing Liu in conversation with Alexandra Lange, Alexandra Cunningham Cameron, and Jimenez Lai.

New York architects Casey MackMOS, and Pietro Pagliaro are generously lending stools.

This pop-up bookstore is organized in collaboration with HEAD Hi.

Friday 25 October 3pm to 8pm
Saturday 26 October 12pm to 5pm
Sunday 27 October 12pm to 5pm

Please wear closed-toe shoes and we will also ask you to wear a hardhat (we provide them on-site if you don’t have one) and to sign a safety waiver to enter the site.
