Green-Wood is a jewel box of architectural gems featuring some of the most popular design trends of its time. Across the grounds you’ll encounter monuments and mausoleums by leading architects and artists of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, in styles ranging from Gothic and Egyptian Revival of the Victorian era to the decadence of Art Nouveau. Along the way you will learn about the permanent residents memorialized by these works, including the tragic tale of 17-year-old Charlotte Canda; John Matthews, the “Soda Fountain King;” and many more!
