This fall, MAS is celebrating design excellence in New York City with our 2024 MASterworks Awards! We have curated a selection of in person explorations and online in-conversations with this year’s honored projects.

On Tuesday, October 17 from 5-6 PM, join MAS for a visit to the Far Rockaway Library, 2024 MASterworks winner for Best New Building. Team members from Snøhetta and NYC Department of Design and Construction will lead attendees throughout the new library. The structure’s exceptional and creative design is enhanced by artistic contributions by Brooklyn-based contemporary artist José Parlá. Join us for an exploration of this exciting new resource in the Far Rockaway neighborhood (and bring your QPL library card!).

In the aftermath of the Hurricane Sandy, the original Far Rockaway Library provided vital disaster relief for local residents.
