In 1961, IBM commissioned Mathematica: A World of Numbers. It was the first interactive exhibition to be devoted entirely to mathematics. 
The exhibition has been on permanent display at NYSCI since 2004, allowing visitors to relish in its beauty and multilayered exploration of the power of mathematics to describe and illuminate our world.

Join New York Hall of Science to cut the ribbon on a restored and reimagined Mathematica experience. Drawing on NYSCI’s Design Make Play approach, Mathematica has been enhanced in ways that will illuminate connections between big mathematical ideas and the innovative ways design can help us think and explore in new ways.
