Visit us on Saturday, August 17th, 12pm–4pm for the last IPA Open [Block] House of the Summer and the opening of AFTERIMAGE, the culminating exhibition of the 2024 Summer Independent Project Residency program.

The 2024 Summer Fellows will present their current research and installations in a group show at the IPA’s historic Block House on Governors Island — the 185-year-old structure that has served as their home during the 11-week residency program. Fellows Sarah Dunham, Mitchell Gaudet, Dr. Harriet Harriss, Jessica Martin, and Alejandro Saldarriaga Rubio will exhibit work that addresses critical topics in contemporary design culture: materiality, temporality, politics, and ecology.

AFTERIMAGE will open next Saturday to the public from 12–4pm, and will have public viewing hours from 12–4pm on weekends from August 17th–25th. We also invite you to stop by our Open Library during those hours to browse IPA’s art and design book collection.
